Snowglobe viewer 1.3

Snowglobe viewer

I have been preaching about Snowglobe viewer qualities for the past 6 months and in my fashion posts I always include the information about the viewer used and lately it has been no other than Snowglobe. I have been using the test builds and I have been having a very good SL experience. In my vocabulary, a good SL experience means (almost) no crashing and a fast viewer. I have been using Snowglobe’s test builds and, for me, they are way better than the official viewer. Fast and stable is what I look for in a viewer. Oh – and I also need a worn tab… I am crossing my fingers that the next build would have that amazing Auto-Response feature (that Emerald viewer has).

The latest feature I’ve discover is the Google Translator in chat. It recognizes the languages I am writing in and immediately translates with extreme some accuracy. However, I believe the translation can only be done in chat but not in IMs.

For me, the increased bandwith is a must have in a viewer. I am hoping that one day it might be up to 8Mb instead of just 5Mb even thought 5Mb is way better than 1.5Mb in the official viewer. The latest builds of Snowglobe had this proxy menu:

Having good FPS (frames per second) is always great… even if it’s in my alt account and on a skybox at 1000m up in the clouds. In my main account, it’s usually good too.

      HI!
      I am totally agree with you, Snowglobe is the best one, but since I upload the new version, i crash all thte time :( even i can be longer on Emerald that i find it really slow to rezz, than snowglobe that takes seconds to rezz all

      :(

      anyway the tab worn items is included :D

      But in what version are you on…? I have been having a great experience with 1.3.0.3092 and last night I upgraded to 1.3.0.3125. Let’s see how that goes because I have upgrade previously and downgraded after some crashing.
      The worn tab is included in all 1.3 versions. ;)

      Snowglobe is the fastest viewer. So, if you’re experiencing a slow rezz experience it could be from your internet connection… or even your computer. The clear cache and relog sometimes helps a lot. Trust me!

      thanks :D

      Maybe I misread your post, but the Snowglobe I use (1.2.4) includes the “worn” tab. And it IS the fastest rezzing by far. I found Emerald very unstable for me and find the tool people use to rez faster in Emerald (where they click repeatedly) funny. I have also recommended Snowglobe to others with instability problems and they have been pleased. Please note I am using this on a PC with Vista 64.

      @akelei,
      When I was on 1.3.0.3092, I had in the login screen a warning saying there was a newer version (even thought it said to download 3114 and the version available was 3119) and, since last night, I am using 1.3.1.3125. However, upgrading might not improve your SL experience.
      When was the last time you clear your computers cache? Clearing cache does actually help because a lot of times it’s something in the cache that makes us crash. You can even manually clear cache: how to | clear cache in Second Life®
      (I also have a program in my computer to clean the computer cache: CCleaner.)

      @Harper,
      The version prior to 1.2.4 didn’t had the worn tab but all of test builds (1.3) always had the worn tab; thus, the worn tab is included in all 1.3 versions.
      I had serious stability issues when I was in Emerald. I was constantly crashing and couldn’t even open a second inventory window. And that was in Windows XP 32bits; now I am on Windows7 64bits and don’t have those issues with Snowglobe viewer.

      Hi again,

      Yes i do clean cache, thanks for all the tips.

      You know, I was going online on Emerald tonight and i got a msg to update the new version, and i clicked the for the link and i got this

      http://modularsystems.sl/downloads.html

      what called my attention was the last option “snowglobe” inside it is the exe. to download “Snow Emerald” (and the source).

      Have you any idea what is that for?, I downloaded but it showed me the same “update new version” with emerald, and the “source” extension, i couldn’t open it cuz asked me for a program and I have no idea which one to use >_<

      I'll appreciate if you know something :P

      Hugs!

      Ake :3

      I don’t use Emerald and I am not on the developers team… but I think it’s a Emerald viewer with Snowglobe viewer code.
      I still recommend Snowglobe viewer.
