1 – How did you discover Second Life and what made you create an account?
Originally I came around in 04 because a friend had been here in the beta.
I managed 3 days of logging in, standing around (mostly walking into people because I couldn’t get out of mouselook) and gave up.
I came back in April of 05 to see what friends were up to and never looked back!

2 – How did you come up with your Second Life name?
Shelly is a derivative of my 1st life name. I chose Toonie because she’s my lil toon person.

3 – Lots of people only stay inSL for a week or a month after creating an account. What made you stay and what motivates you to log back in?
In the beginning I stayed for friends, socializing and because I loved making things. It was all so new and wonderful and the smallest
things like a paper airplane made me smile. Coming from chat rooms or things like TSO that was just amazing to me. Now I stay because it’s
simply an extension of my life. I exist there the same as I do in meatspace.

4 – What have you been doing in SL? Tell us your story: what have you been up to or what have you created.
Right–4.5 years in a few sentences! I learn, grow, laugh, cry, listen, dance, shop, explore. I own Moonshine Designs–mostly clothing tho
now and then I toss in something else. On the weekends sometimes I meander over to hear some live music. One of the newer things I’ve been doing
is being a groupie for Sound’r and being a part of their machinma projects. Sometimes you might find me just playing a quiet game of scrabble
with Dazz. Again, SL is just me in pixel form, so you’ll find me doing much the same things as you would in my first life–working & playing.

5 – Have you found, developed or improved any skills because of SL?
Absolutely. While I had some photoshop skills, I’ve learned so much more because of my work in SL. I’ve also dabbled in learning some other
software. We can’t forget the people skills. If you want to, if you open your mind, you can learn an amazing amount about yourself and those
you exist with in a world where there are fewer boundaries.

6 – Could you share a funny or awkward story that happened to you inSL?
When I came back to SL in O5, I could not for the life of me get the hang of movement. I blame it on a really old pc that probably should
not have run SL in the first place. For my first week or two, my friend rezzed a cube, had me sit on it, went into edit mode and drug me
along behind simply so they didn’t have to wait for me!

7 – What would you change or improve in Second Life?
I think we all have ideas on what would improve Second Life–implementing them is the hard part. I’d love to see an updated avatar mesh for one.
However, more importanly, I’m sure we could make changes to communication between LL and the residents. That seems to be the biggest culprit of
our problems. I’d start with a more effective bridge.

8 – Can you share your current and/or future projects for SL?
Moonshine is always changing, evolving, growing. That’s my main project.

9 – Have you ever had any issues whatsoever within Second Life? If so, how did you reported and was the feedback positive?
Nothing more than the usual–some AR’s filed, some billing questions, problems with estate, etc. As a premium user, I go to live chat for help.
I think the feedback is mixed. Like any customer service, sometimes you’re satisfied; sometimes you aren’t.

10 – Is Second Life merely an online game or do you consider it more of a metaverse or a virtual world?
I think my former answers already covered this one. Without a doubt, my presence in Second Life is simply an extension of where I am and who I am.

11 – Imagine a new resident asks for your help. What would do? What would you tell him/her?
I’d send them to some of the fantastic places that you can learn things–NIC for one. If you don’t “get” it, you won’t stay.

12 – How would you describe yourself in one word?
Work-in-progress.

Awesome Interview. Yes, This is Shelly to a “T” :) Down to earth, fun, creative and awesome.

May I point out the tiny bit of cheating on the ‘work-in-progress’ being not one word :) <3
