1 – How did you discover Second Life and what made you create an account?
I read an article in the Technology Review about virtual worlds, downloaded the viewer, created an account and forgot about it until my husband asked me if I had heard about SL. So I logged on hoping for a more elaborate version of The Sims. I wanted to build pretty houses and dress up dolls.

2 – How did you come up with your Second Life name?
Alliterations do it for me… When I read the name Brickworks I immediately had that song in mind ‘She’s a Brickhouse’ – I liked it. And as Brickworks sounds pretty hard I wanted something cute and fluffy as a first name and what’s fluffier than a Bunny? There’s a real life politician with that name (which I did not know when I created my account), she’d probably look quite surprised if she one day googled her own name.

3 – Lots of people only stay in SL for a week or a month after creating an account. What made you stay and what motivates you to log back in?
I was immediately captivated by the creative potential. Building, taking pictures, making clothes. It really was like The Sims plus the social component. The reason I stayed is the people I met, some of them have become close friends in real life. And as we used to be scattered over three time zones, SL provided a nicer way to stay in contact than a mere chat via Skype for example.
Though today I log on much less than I used to – maybe for an hour per day. I usually log on, buy poses and props, snap my pics and log off again. After 3 years I am suffering from SL fatigue – been there, done that – and only use it as canvas for my pictures.

4 – What have you been doing in SL? Tell us your story: what have you been up to or what have you created.
I once had an accessories store with my SL sister – *GaZoV*DeSiGnS* – which is now on xstreet only as we both lost interest in creating and doing business. I used to be the editor-in-chief of a pinup magazine, the graphic novelist of SLag Magazine and the photographer for the Herald’s Post 6. And I had an anti-fashion blog, which I deleted about half an hour ago…
I was an officer for Loglady Loon’s Freak Show and participated in Pornosophy and GODart, both exhibitions were highly successful and I deeply regret that the Freak Show projects have been discontinued.
But I tend to lose interest when fun turns into serious work in SL cause in my point of view, that’s not what SL is made for. I hate working within a certain timeframe – I have to do that in RL, that’s more than enough. So whenever things turned into an obligation, I quit. I used to roleplay a lot in Midian, CoLA and The Crack Den but hardly have any time for that now. And I enjoy some occasional C:SI sword fighting with my clan. That’s it.
Nowadays I spend my online time taking pictures. Yes, I’m a proud pornographer, there’s just not enough GOOD porn on flickr. Porn and violence do it for me. That’s not a philosophical statement but an aesthetical one. My porn is cute and my violence is pretty. And if you don’t like it, don’t look at it, it’s easy like that.

5 – Have you found, developed or improved any skills because of SL?
I improved my Photoshop skills – that’s all.

6 – Could you share a funny or awkward story that happened to you in SL?
The people I spend my time with make me laugh every day and I really can’t think of any particular story. Maybe the way I partnered Tarissa, my SL wifey, without even knowing her. And we’ve been happily partnered for one year now!

7 – What would you change or improve in Second Life?
Remove the free accounts, yes I know there will be an outrage now but I don’t think that paying something like 10 USD per month would be too much. And please remove all the dormant accounts of people who once created them and never ever logged on again. Free some server capacity and our virtual world will be a happier place.

8 – Can you share your current and/or future projects for SL?
I don’t have any projects. There are a lot of flickr ‘artists’ I collaborated with in the past and there’s more to come. Most of the things I do come spontaneously, inspired by music or movies. I don’t make any plans in SL.

9 – Have you ever had any issues whatsoever within Second Life? If so, how did you reported and was the feedback positive?
The mute button is your friend, the AR is a powerful tool. Nuff said!

10 – Is Second Life merely an online game or do you consider it more of a metaverse or a virtual world?
Well, it’s not a game as it has no levels or an end. But it is not a virtual ‘world’ either as there’s no need to fill your fridge or pay your bills. I ‘play’ Second Life, I do not associate myself with my avatar – Bunny Brickworks surely has some of my character traits but she lives a different life than the person at the keyboard. Besides my ‘family’, I don’t take too many things in SL serious.

11 – Imagine a new resident asks for your help. What would do? What would you tell him/her?
Would you guess I’m not a social person? Well, I usually don’t talk to strangers, newbie or oldbie – all the same to me. But if they want one good advice it would probably be ‘keep your pants on and you’ll stay out of trouble’.

12 – How would you describe yourself in one word?
Boundless

Princess! I am deeply shocked about this interview cause you made it without a single swear word *checks your temperature* And without a single emoticon, which I really appreciate.

You know my feelings for you and I don’t think there’s enough room here to write them down in detail. And you know what I think about your work on flickr, thanks for letting me be a part of it.

You’re the toughest, most honest and most down-to-earth person I ever met in either life. And before I get all mushy…

    Always! Forever! <3

My sis, my bitch, my BFF <3

There's no better word to describe you than 'boundless', no better advice one could give a noob than to keep their pants on. You're spot on, hands down and totally grounded.

    Love beyond words.
    Always! Forever!

Great interview with a gorgeous woman and the most loyal friend one could imagine in a place so volatile and uncommitted as SL.

The most interesting part of the whole interview is in the mentions section – kudos to the family, the friends and flickrites and to the two absent friends. By now it’s three I guess… That’s my Buns, the one who is completely devoted to the ones close to her and her work!

Without you I wouldn’t be in SL anymore, thanks for everything, princess.

Wars come and go but your soldiers stay eternal.
    Always! Forever!

The best wifey in the whole wide world!
I don’t understand why she’s called “Bunny Fuck”, “Bunny Bitch”, “Bunny Cunt” (two-faced kind). There are not so many down-to-earth and tolerant people around. She has an opinion and lets you have your own. I think, most Anti-Bunnies don’t get that at all.
…and of course what the others, who are good with words, wrote!

I might get the “Bitch” though…*rubs chin* ;-)

    *sighs deeply*

And there’s the reason I am still around… my sis, my wifey and my two pixel samurais. Thank you for your kind words, you know what you all mean to me. Always! Forever!

And wifey… *kicks your lil fuzzy bum* Thanks for reminding me of the wonderful nicknames the wonderful people gave me. I wear them all with pride, like a medal of honor in my ever-lasting fight against ass clowns ;-)
