jira | Capped IMs can cause inventory loss

Posted on November 16, 2009 by Ana Lutetia | 4 Comments

Peter Stindberg wrote a great a blogpost about inventory transactions fail which is something that happens a lot, at least, to me. Even though I receive the information of my offlines in my email, if by any chance someone sends me an item through a scripted object and if by that time my offlines were already capped, I will never receive it. However, it wasn’t always like this. Actually, this is quite recent but I can’t precise exactly when this bug started. I do remember receiving all items sent to me even through scripted objects. And, for me, it is a bug that I have been expecting to see fixed. From the latest news, it seems that what started as a bug has turned into a feature… Thanks to the beautiful Kesseret Steeplechase there’s a new jira related to this issue to vote!

In my opinion, someone broke something that it was working flawlessly! And, it was brought to my attention, that it was asked if we were willing to pay a fee to guaranteed deliveries. Right…

[VWR-16140] If a device uses llGiveInventory and a user is offline and their IMs are capped the user will not receive the item.
