1 – How did you discover Second Life and what made you create an account?
I saw and article about social networking in UK Elle and as i was snowed in at the time figured id give it a go. I spent the next 5 beetles albums glued to SL and haven’t really left since. Iv always been a bit of a secrete game addict so i thought SL would be a nice replacement for the sims or something.

2 – How did you come up with your Second Life name?
Anyone who knows me, can tell you that i am an awful speller im openly dislexic in fact this interview will be no doubt, riddles with typos! (unless ana corrects it the doll). So all long surnames were ruled out right off. “Grut” seemed an easy name and “Marni” is the name of (at the time) one of my favorite RL designers. Plus “Gucci Grut” or “Dior Grut” didnt sound as good.

3 – Lots of people only stay inSL for a week or a month after creating an account. What made you stay and what motivates you to log back in?
On my second day in world i made a jackie o themed outfit, pill box hat and all. That’s how it started. I was off school in RL so i wanted something creative to do, having previously been a member of deviant art (my account name was AzureFeather its not been updated since i joined SL). Iv always been the type of person that flits from project to project but SL has held my attention the longest.

4 – What have you been doing in SL? Tell us your story: what have you been up to or what have you created.
Royal Blue is my baby i think its more an emporium of my fashion ideas than a store. Its like my replacement for SLove, its always there to come home to and cheer me up when im SL down. I worked on shows when i joined Sl and that’s how i started the store, Eolande payed my first weeks rent and iv just kept it going since then. I have also worked on a few magazines in SL, Second Style, Glam world and now my own current magazine project. I was a model for few editorials, but packed that all in when i discovered pixel food. Iv bloged for a few diffrent blogs and like to change blog sites as often as my pixel knickers.

5 – Have you found, developed or improved any skills because of SL?
My photoshops come along leaps and bounds, and i would never have learnt 3d modeling without SL. My typing gotten better (believe it or not)

6 – Could you share a funny or awkward story that happened to you inSL?
I once got drunk on voice in the middle of surf. co and start yelling and being generally drunk. Tenshi witnessed it all……. I’m told it wasn’t pretty.

7 – What would you change or improve in Second Life?
More Plutonic SLove i think everyone needs to be a bit nicer sometimes. Myself included. I know iv been snappy at people before and vice versa.

8 – Can you share your current and/or future projects for SL?
I’m currently working on my guest fall line for LeLutka which will be out soonish. iv enjoyed making it some much and i couldn’t have asked for a more fun team to be part of. Min, Thora, Val, Any, Azu and Aradia are fantastic <3. The collection itself is very "me" so anyone who's a fan of Royal Blue wont be disappointing (I hope!)
I'm also working on a magazine or as id prefer to refer to it, a fashion journal. Its my personal take on fashion and a collection of people im friend withs work. Editorials fun articles its about making fashion back into fashion. Giving clothes a meaning and a point other than "thats cute" Id like to get some other people involved to work on other cultural aspects to be part of bone.

9 – Have you ever had any issues whatsoever within Second Life?
If so, how did you reported and was the feedback positive? I once did something very odd to Sl and shut myself out of the grid AND the website. I logged in on a friends computer and harassed a linden via IM and i couldn’t have asked for a nicer response.

10 – Is Second Life merely an online game or do you consider it more of a metaverse or a virtual world?
I like to think of Sl as a bit of everything, its all how you place the game i guess. To me its another creative outlet.

11 – Imagine a new resident asks for your help. What would do? What would you tell him/her?
Send them alot of folders and tell them that fex sex islands are so 2004 and and to come with me tot he dark side that is pixel fashion.

12 – How would you describe yourself in one word?
