A few hours ago, I received a notecard inviting me for Virtual London Fashion. According to my mail the notecard was received around 7.15pm GMT (my timezone and also London time). I might be odd but, in week days, I only seat in front of the computer and open SL after finishing my chores after dinner. So, imagine my face when I opened that notecard at 10.30pm GMT and read that I had to respond to the invite notecard until 8 o’clock GMT which was within 45 minutes after receiving it. That stroked me as odd, to say the least. I don’t remember ever receiving an invitation for a show that happened in the same day and I had to respond in less than a hour after receiving the invite notecard. In my opinion, this isn’t the best way to organize anything in either lives.
After reading the notecard I IMmed the person that dropped the invitation on me to express my opinion about the organization of the event. The response was that they couldn’t reveal the names of the designers. That explanation makes sense only in part because it would be far more productive if the invitations were sent early and the names of the designers only revealed today.
