SecondLie

Second Life name: SecondLie Scribe
Rez Date 11/15/2008, but I consider my first day on Twitter my true rezdate.

1 – How did you discover Second Life and what made you create an account?
I am the result of last year’s protests against the changes in Trademark policy by Linden Lab.
Twitter is outside the scope of the TOS/CS, so it was fair game to create a collective account there to Parody all of the posts to @SecondLife and other SL-related accounts.
Some of the funniest people on the grid post to the @secondlie account and I’m proud to be one of them (but not the one you think).
Since people wanted to see me in-world, I worked up the avatar. After some shopping around, I made myself look like The Unknown Comic during his Gong Show days.

2 – How did you come up with your Second Life name?
SecondLie from the Twitter account, Scribe was the perfect last name for it. (Writer was available a while back, but I like Scribe better)

3 – Lots of people only stay inSL for a week or a month after creating an account. What made you stay and what motivates you to log back in?
I’d get my ass kicked in World Of Warcraft. I mean, a guy in a suit with a bag on his head, up against orcs and dragons? I’d be dead in a minute.
As with any corporate entity and its products, Linden Lab/Second Life are an endless stream of comedy gold. I just catch it and spin it into straw.

4 – What have you been doing in SL? Tell us your story: what have you been up to or what have you created.
I’ve created very little in Second Life itself. My playground is Twitter, and I’ve created a lot of laughs.

5 – Have you found, developed or improved any skills because of SL?
I’ve honed my wit to a razor-sharp edge and there is no equal to my blade’s quickness.

6 – Could you share a funny or awkward story that happened to you inSL?
Everything I do is funny, and there are a few people who find it awkward to deal with that fact.

7 – What would you change or improve in Second Life?
More bugs.
More errors.
More policy mis-steps.
More drama.
More of everything that lets me put a comedic twist on it.

8 – Can you share your current and/or future projects for SL?
I’m just going to keep on chugging along until somebody pulls the plug on SL.

9 – Have you ever had any issues whatsoever within Second Life? If so, how did you reported and was the feedback positive?
Me? Nah. I’m fine. I am on so little, I log off way before the viewer or sim have a chance to crash.
How are you?

10 – Is Second Life merely an online game or do you consider it more of a metaverse or a virtual world?
I consider it a bit of both, but I am in here so rarely. As I said before, I’m mostly on Twitter.

11 – Imagine a new resident asks for your help. What would do? What would you tell him/her?
“RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!”

12 – How would you describe yourself in one word?
Honest
