Thank you!

So yesterday I was doing my usual of bringing some semblance of order into my chaotic inventory when I noticed there were like 400 items less on that number that shows up. I shrugged it off, thinking my mad cleaning skills were actually better than I thought.

Until I went searching for my skin folder. And nothing. Zilch. Nada. Nepias de pitibiriba.

MY. ENTIRE. SKIN. FOLDER. HAD. GONE. MISSING.

Yes, my entire skin folder was gone. I gulped, wiped the cold sweat from my brow and IMed Ana, who promptly pointed me to her nifty tutorial. I tried it and nothing. Skins nowhere to be found. I went to SL wiki page on Inventory Loss, I searched the web high and low, I tried every trick on the book and no results. My skins had fallen into a rabbit hole never to be seen again.

I had read on the wiki page that sometimes the problem of disappearing items was solved after 24 hours so I logged off, hoping for the best. But the next day, the skin folder was still missing.

Up comes an IM from the Fleur Update Group and I had to share my misery with the girls. Every one of them was simply a sweetheart, offering solutions and simpathy. Thank you, each and every one of you.

Then Grazia Horwitz told Hart Larsson of PXL Skins and he kindly sent me a review pack of his Grace Natural skins. My jaw just dropped, due to their kindness and the gorgeousness of the skins.

But the surprises hadn’t ended just yet, because the awesome Helena Stringer, from Shrine and The Stringer Mausoleum, sent me some skins made by her and a 1000L$ Card to Fleur. Then I got all teary eyed. Really, how could I not? Here were these people I had never met, these amazing creators that work so hard to make SL an great experience to everyone, reaching up to help me start my skin collection over again.

So I like to think that for every douche bag that disses on the fabulous work of someone like AnaLu or complains about a freebie or something, there are at least three persons who make it all worth while, with their creativity, their hard work and their kindness to strangers.

Thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart. You make my SL rock!

I really sympathize leilah – loss of inventory is a regular occurence for me – sometimes it reappears the next day sometimes it doesnt , sometimes it can be as much as 10k missing , the most frustrating thing is when you upload the textures youve made one day and theyre missing the next which entails uploading them all again only to find a week later both sets are there -LOL and thats why my inventory is an unholy mess – thats what i blame anyway :P Glad to hear you had a happy ending to your story :)
