review | Zaara ~ MAITRI, MITYA and MITALI

Posted on July 26, 2008 by Ana Lutetia | 6 Comments

Zaara Kohime from {Zaara} made some separates in neutral, metallic and pastel shades. Each of them has Zaara’s distinctive touch and they all look dazzling (as usual).
Maitri are the short silk jackets available in four colors and each jacket comes in both layers (jacket and shirt with belt), belt only in jacket layer and ruffle prims.
Mitya are the cute shorts with a gold rose. They are available in 4 deep colors and they include shorts in both layers (pants and underpants) and a prim tie up.
Mitali is the endearing begin sequin turtleneck and tee. They are available in 4 pastel colors and each comes with tee, turtleneck (in separate layers) with tucked and untucked versions, prim turtleneck and prim roll up cuffs for the sleeves.

P.S.: The gradients used in as background for the pics were made by me. Once I find them in my computer I will make them available for download. Special thanks to VintFalken and TheDiva for helping me figure out (in Plurk) how to make them.

How did you know I’ve been wondering how to do those gradients!! Your pictures always look fantastic!

I love your pictures, they are fantastic! They really show the details in the designs.

    Nissa,
I take my pics at 3200×2400 in a white backdrop (or black, depending on the outfit) inside the Photoshpere. In PhotoShop, I use the magic wand to past them to a white background and remove all the white (or black) in them. After composing the pic, I use as backdrop a gradient or a pattern. After flatten layers, I duplicated the layers, use gaussian blur and overlay of soft light. Another method to lighten the pics is using the exposure in the adjustment layers.
I try not to change the original picture. I want people to see the outfits exactly how they are.
I will make a tutorial one of these days. ;)
BTW, I am not a PS expert. I just like to try and experiment and that’s how I found out this PS optins.

    Berry,
That’s a huge compliment coming from you. You are an amazing photographer. Love your pictures!

You are just absolutely awesome! Thanks for sharing your process. Even without the tutorial, I think I can do some of this. I’m no PS expert either — but I’m learning an awful lot just because of SL :) Thank you :)

And… if your computer doesn’t handle 3200×2400 pics, 1600×1200 is good enough.

Anything you need, IM me or email me. :)

I forgot to mention that the facelights I use is a free one and full perms. Meaning: IM me and I can pass it to you.

Now, I am googling about LOMO effects. ;)
