tutorial | (my) WindLight presets

Posted on April 20, 2008 by Ana Lutetia | 17 Comments

If anyone wants to use my WindLight presets, I made them available for download:

Ana Lutetia – WL preset

HOW TO:
1. Copy the downloaded file and paste it into the following directory: C:\Program Files\SecondLife\app_settings\windlight\skies
or wherever you have you Second Life® installed.
2. In Second Life choose World » Environment settings » Environment Editor » Advanced Sky and search for the presets from the menu sky presets.
NOTE:
This has to be done with SLâ„¢ closed or, if you have it open, you will close and open again so the presets will show up.

And for anyone looking for presets, Torley’s presets for sky and water rock and you can find them here with all the instructions on how to use it: Torley’s WindLight settings.

If anyone has more WL presets to share, please let me know. I would love to try yours. I know mine aren’t perfect but it’s what I have been using. (If you want email me your presets, after saving them with your name, and I can make them available to download too.)
I would also advice you to use Caliah Lyon facelight for studio pics.

Hi Ana, would it be ok if I included your Windlight presets in an installer I have for download?

Sure, Namssor! My pleasure. Only thing I ask are credits. If you prefer I can email you my presets. :)

Thank you! As it stands, I’m suggesting people add their SL names into the preset name to keep track of origin. It looks like you have already done that. Is that satisfactory? I may expand the installer to include selective installation in the future, and put a text file in for name credits too.
